ARI Performance Standards Revised
ARI standards establish rating criteria and procedures for measuring and certifying product performance.
Standard 460-2000 applies to mechanical-draft, air-cooled refrigerant condensers for use without external air resistance. It covers definitions; requirements for testing and rating; minimum data requirements for published ratings; marking and nameplate data; and conformance conditions.
Standard 500-2000 applies to electric-motor-driven, variable-capacity, positive-displacement refrigerant compressors and compressor units for air-cooled, evaporatively cooled, or water-cooled a/c and heat pump systems. This standard is not intended to cover ammonia compressors.
Both standards are available for free download on ARI’s website at www.ari.org. Paper copies can be ordered by faxing a request to 703-528-3816.
