April 7, 2005: ACCA Releases New Employee Handbook Guide

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has released its newly revised Resource Guide to Employee Relations for Your HVACR Contracting Business.

The guide is intended to assist HVACR contractors in developing their first employee handbooks or in revising existing and out-of-date ones. It offers guidance on keeping the handbook simple and straightforward in order to educate employees about company history, policies, benefits, and employer expectations.

The resource guide also offers policy options and benefit explanations that can be used as samples to get contractors started in drafting their own handbooks. One section of the guide provides basic job titles, descriptions, and qualification criteria for the HVACR contracting industry.

The final section of the guide includes the results of a recent ACCA survey on salaries and benefits in the HVACR industry and compares it with data gathered from surveys conducted 10 years ago.

A CD-ROM of the model handbook is included with the publication.

To order the Resource Guide to Employee Relations for Your HVACR Contracting Business, visit www.acca.org/store or call 888-290-2220.
