April 19, 2006: AMCA International Signs Agreement With Beijing Center

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA International) and Beijing CRAA Quality Certification Center Co. Ltd. (CRAAQCC) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a collaborative venture whereby CRAAQCC will be AMCA's sole agent in the People's Republic of China, authorized to communicate with licensees, potential licensees, specifiers, members, and potential members regarding the Certified Ratings Program on behalf of AMCA. The new enterprise is located at the Beijing CRAAQCC, Xuanwu District, Beijing, China.

Barbara Morrison, AMCA's executive director, remarked "This is a second MOU agreement instituted by AMCA within a six month period." AMCA previously signed a collaborative agreement with Korea MPI in a similar venture.

The signing took place on opening day of the AHR/China Expo in Shanghai, China. Preceding the MOU signing and opening of the show, CRAAQCC underwent extensive training on the AMCA Certified Rating Program for Fans, Air & Sound.

Morrison explained "Many benefits will be derived by all parties, including promotion of identical procedures for product certification throughout the world, encouraging simplification, standardization, and cost reduction." She continued, "Increased membership and revenue are among the many benefits CRAAQCC will enjoy by offering direct access to the license and use of the AMCA seal, and AMCA gains increased CRP participation and recognition through licenses granted to Chinese manufacturers."

Additionally, Morrison stated, "While this venture begins with the Certified Ratings Program for fans, both AMCA and CRAAQCC pledge to work toward expanding their program to include other product lines under the scope of AMCA International."
