April 17, 2007: Three Chinese Manufacturers Meet Criteria of Honeywell R-410A Certified Program

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Honeywell has announced that three Chinese air conditioner manufacturers have met the criteria of its R-410A Certified Vendor Program (CVP). Honeywell created the CVP specifically for Chinese air conditioner manufacturers who use R-410A refrigerant purchased from licensed suppliers.

Haier, Changhong, and Midea all received a certification letter following an independent audit, according to Honeywell. Hisense and New Widetech are currently participating in Honeywell’s CVP. The announcement was made at the18th Annual China Refrigeration Show in Guangzhou, China.

Under the program, all participating companies agree to be periodically audited by third parties to ensure that they are using only R-410A refrigerant purchased from licensed suppliers. Honeywell has retained the SGS Group to conduct audits according to a strict protocol. Companies receive a certification letter from SGS Group on the basis of the audit results.

“Our Certified Vendor Program further enables our customers and our customer’s customers to achieve peace-of-mind knowing they are using our patented energy-efficient HFC technologies,” said David Lu, Asia commercial director for Honeywell’s Fluorine Products business. “This program supports Honeywell’s continued effort to combat patent infringement worldwide.”

As part of the program, Honeywell will identify certified Chinese air conditioner manufacturers for key buyers in Europe. Those certified companies also can gain other strategic benefits and advantages such as co-marketing opportunities with Honeywell brands in global markets.
