Snow barriers eliminate snow accumulation at the air intake. They are designed to be mounted in any existing intake plenum, behind louvers, or at the openings of weather hoods. The snow barriers are constructed of 1-inch thick continuous stainless steel mesh and are heat traced to prevent icing. They disperse the snow and drain the liquid that has accumulated. The manufacturer claims that the pressure drop is much less with snow barriers than it is with louvers or filters and that snow barriers can reduce fan horsepower requirements. All snow barriers are built to specification and/or customer operating requirements.
