A new test can quickly detect the trichothecene toxins produced by some molds, says the company. This is an antibody-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test that gives swifter mycotoxin testing at significantly lower costs than other testing, claims the company. According to the company, the ELISA test can test for satratoxins, roridins, verucarins, and over 200 other mycotoxins produced by Stachbotrys chartarum, as well as numerous species of Acremonium, Fusarium, Trichoderma, and Trichothecium; these toxins are identified as a total group, not individually.
