DETROIT, MI — In August, a painter working at Ford Field — the new home of the NFL’s Detroit Lions — was killed when a hydraulic lift he was working on fell into the seats. The Associated Press reported that the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) had cited the man’s employer, Thomarios Painting, for two safety violations earlier this summer.

It was not clear whether those citations were related to the fatal accident, according to a report in the September issue of the OSHA Compliance Advisor. Another employee at the site said the equipment tipped over and the basket in which the victim was sitting fell upside down into the first row of stadium seats.
