The three-day course teaches the concepts behind load calculation, equipment selection, duct design, and room air distribution. The design theory is then used as a foundation for hands-on training on computer-assisted system design software.

Both residential and commercial classes are being offered. Included in the classes is an overview of the impact of the upcoming 13 SEER requirement on systems design.

Upcoming dates for the residential class include: Sept. 27-29, Washington, D.C.; Oct. 4-6, Houston; Oct. 25-27, Charlotte, N.C.; Dec. 6-8, Columbia, S.C.; Jan. 17-19, Clearwater, Fla.; and Feb. 7-9, New Orleans. A commercial version of the Contractor Training Series, Commercial Load Calculation and Systems Design, will be held in Jacksonville, Fla., April 4-6, 2006.

The class provides Continuing Education Units plus 20 hours toward North American Technician Excellence (NATE) recertification.
