ACCA Combines 51 Chapters

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has completed a three-year restructuring program to bring the national organization and its state and local affiliates closer together.

ACCA said that its board of directors had decided three years ago to develop a strategic plan that would combine national and chapter memberships into one federated membership. Fifty-one state and local chapters have chosen to affiliate with the national organization. This means that participating contractors will be members of ACCA at all levels.

Jim Hussey, 2002-2003 chairman of ACCA and president of Marina Mechanical in California, spent most of last year on the road meeting with contractors at chapter meetings. Hussey attributes the success of the plan to the individual contractor members and local chapter leaders who worked to bring the federation together.
