The Geminiâ„¢ comfort speed fan motor is two electric motors in one, the company states. This design mounts two separate rotors and stators on the same shaft in the same main frame. Each motor comes with multiple taps so that the customer can isolate high-speed operation and low-speed operation for improved system efficiency and quieter operation, says the manufacturer. By using a second synchronous-speed motor during low-speed operation, customers can obtain greater speed separation, the company says. According to the manufacturer, the installer can select the right speed tap for the individual residential application.
