Amana
www.amana-hac.com
Amana’s APD14 dual-fuel heat pump features direct spark ignition, a fully insulated heavy-gauge cabinet, and energy-efficient motor. According to the company, it has convenient access panels. All blower operations and all safety circuits are complete with self-diagnostics, loss-of-charge protection, and one roof curb fits all units. The company also offers the ASZC18 heat pump. This unit is compatible with the ComfortNet communicating system and has expanded ComfortAlert diagnostics. It supports all residential IAQ products, components, and systems.

American Standard
www.americanstandardair.com
American Standard’s Platinum ZM heat pump contains two compressors that provide two-stage heating and cooling, running at an energy-saving 50 percent capacity most of the time. It automatically communicates and coordinates with other system components via the AccuLink™ communicating system. The unit also runs quietly and keeps temperature even from room to room with its variable-speed fan motor. Charge Assist™ charging helps simplify and improve system refrigerant charge accuracy.

Broan
www.broanhvac.net
Broan’s iQ Drive FT4BG split system heat pump has an inverter on a hinged panel that swings open for access to controls and compressor, two-digit diagnostic LCD for troubleshooting and system status, adaptive demand defrost, and external common suction port. Noise reduction features include sound blankets, variable-speed compressor, variable-speed fan motors, and swept-wing fan blades.

Bryant
www.bryant.com
The Evolution® Extreme 280ANV heat pump by Bryant allows a service technician to attach a second control to outdoor unit for service without entering the home, and to access the system remotely with a remote access module (sold separately) via the Internet to prepare for a service call in advance if connected to a Wi-Fi network. Evolution control can display system history for faster diagnosis of the complete system. The AeroQuiet™ system includes sound-deadening features in the cabinet, fan system, and top for better airflow, lower noise, and better efficiency.

Carrier
www.residential.carrier.com
Carrier’s 25VNA Infinity 20 heat pump with Greenspeed™ intelligence achieves low sound ratings with soft motor mounts, a compressor sound blanket, forward-swept fan blades, a laminated sound elimination compressor mounting plate, and a unique top with integrated silencer airflow baffle. Communication between system components allows the Infinity control to display system history for faster diagnosis of the complete system.

Coleman
www.colemanhvacdealer.com
The Coleman D*UQ-24-060 Echelon™ dual-fuel package heat pump has gas/electric service connections on the side or bottom. It is easily converted from horizontal airflow to vertical airflow and has a composite noncorrosive drain pan as well as external refrigerant pressure ports. Full perimeter base rails allow for fork or crane lifting. It also features an easy-access electrical and control box and attractive, protective coil louvers. This product can be applied on both residential and light commercial applications.

The Comfort Control2 System™ provides over 37 on-board diagnostics and fault history codes for condensing units by detecting system and electrical problems.

Trane
www.trane.com
The Trane XL20i heat pump has two compressors: one for milder weather and a second larger compressor for extremely hot days. According to the company, it’s like having two units in one. When matched with a variable-speed indoor unit from Trane, the XL20i has another special feature; it’s a method of enhancing airflow the company calls Comfort-R™. It provides greater humidity control in cooling, which is accomplished by running the fan at a slower speed during start-up. Comfort-R also provides warmer air during heating start-up. These managed cycles reduce temperature variances for the optimum in home comfort.
