Available in models with 1 million-, 1.3 million-, and 1.5 million-Btuh inputs, the Armor X2 is a commercial condensing water heater. It combines stainless steel heat exchanger technology with modulating/condensing combustion to deliver thermal efficiencies as high as 96 percent. Designed to eliminate concerns about meeting hot-water demand, water heater X2 is equipped with two independent combustion systems that consist of two 316L stainless steel heat exchangers, gas valves, and combustion blowers designed to work in unison. The combustion system can fire as low as 10 percent of the maximum water heater input and modulate up to 100 percent as demand increases. The Smart Touch full-color, touchscreen operating control offers complete control of all Armor X2 functions, simplifying installation and operation while also offering complete access to system performance data and history. In addition, Smart Touch enables the water heater X2 to communicate seamlessly in real time with building management systems by utilizing an on-board Modbus protocol. With a space-saving footprint and seven venting options, the unit offers flexibility for placement of units within the building. It can be installed with direct-vent air intake and exhaust runs up to 100 equivalent feet using PVC, CPVC, polypropylene, or AL28-4C stainless steel vent pipe. Intake and exhaust runs can terminate horizontally through a sidewall or vertically through the roof.
