The Unified Group, an independent association of 54 commercial HVAC contractors, presented its Member of the Year award to Orlando, Fla.-based Innovative Service Solutions at the organization’s recent annual meeting.

Richard Bodwell, president and founder of Innovative Service Solutions, received the award. He and his company were cited as being active in all areas of The Unified Group since becoming a member in 2005. Bodwell has helped and contributed to training, marketing, membership, and business opportunities, it was noted.

According to Julie Bishop, executive director of The Unified Group, “Innovative Service Solutions was honored this year for their many contributions to the group. Richard is not only a strong advocate for our group, but as a second-generation owner, for the industry as a whole. ISS focuses on true service, and they take a unique approach to the marketplace. The company is always looking for new ideas, and Richard’s team believes in sharing their experience and knowledge with all members of The Unified Group. He’s a lifelong learner who shares his passion for relationship building with everyone he encounters.”

Bishop noted that the mission of The Unified Group is to help its members increase productivity, profitability, and customer retention by providing training opportunities, information exchange, sharing of best practices, and negotiated purchasing agreements as well as a network to pursue national and regional business opportunities.
