The agreement calls for Trimble and Autodesk to exchange application programming interfaces and tools for developers to create software that works with each other’s products.

The work is part of a years-long effort to phase out the use of refrigerants with high global warming potential in HVAC construction.

A panel of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors members from across the country shared told lawmakers what they’ve done to help close the looming gap. 

Company officials say the center will focus on advancing ideas quickly from concept to prototype through collaboration with customers, industry partners, competitors and experts from other industries who can bring new perspectives to specific challenges.

The winners in 10 categories, including green HVAC, will be recognized in a Jan. 31, 2017, ceremony, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. 

SME, the SME Education Foundation and Tooling U-SME are gold-level sponsors for the event, which takes place Oct. 7. 

The SC460 and SC660 offer the ability to transmit measurements and can calculate power and system efficiency, officials said.
