Steel demand forces 6%-9% increase on residential, commercial products
Steel prices are going up at sheet metal products supplier Hercules Industries.
The Colorado-based company announced Thursday that it would increase price increases between 6 percent and 9 percent on residential and commercial sheet metal works items ordered after July 18.
Hercules officials said recent imposed duties on some Chinese steel imports has caused a surge in domestic steel demand and prices. Many steel mills are limiting purchasers. Further price increases may be necessary, officials added.
