CertainTeed introduces green HVAC duct wrap
CertainTeed says its new Sustainable Insulation SoftTouch duct wrap was made to be easy to install and handle while meeting green HVAC requirements.
"There has been an increase in demand for insulation products that are sustainable, offer lower VOCs, and have less itch and dust when being installed," said Jim Voitel, product manager for technical insulation for CertainTeed. "We're pleased to offer a new SoftTouch product that specifically addresses contractors' needs and keeps our commitment to continually improve our high performance line of mechanical insulation products."
Green HVAC components of the insulation include a plant-based, formaldehyde-free binder and lacks harsh acrylics, dyes and fire-retardant chemicals. It generates less dust, creating less itchiness for HVAC construction installers, officials say.
