The green metal roof on the new Cabela’s store in Gainesville, Virginia, reflects the company’s lodge-inspired style. The store features high ceilings, raw exposed wood, stone masonry and more than 20,000-square-feet of Petersen’s 22 gauge Snap-Clad panels completes the roof.

The Snap-Clad panels for the 80,000-square-foot store were installed by Orndorff & Spaid and fabricated at Petersen’s manufacturing facility in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Petersen panels previously have been installed on several Cabela’s locations throughout the United States.

L.F. Jennings was the general contractor on the project.

“We were provided prototypical drawings for the roof that were very specific regarding terminations, transitions and flashing requirements,” says project manager Jim Godino. “We rely on our roofing contractors to recommend the manufacturer that they feel best meets the specs. O&S did a great job with the Petersen Snap-Clad profile. It was a great project to work on.”
