The latest lawsuit to claim collusion and price-fixing by manufacturers was filed May 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan by Husky Heating & Cooling, a contractor in Conway, Arkansas.
Carrier reported a 12% drop in Q1 residential sales, but commercial growth and pricing actions helped offset weakness amid ongoing lawsuits and market uncertainty.
Carrier’s residential sales dropped nearly 40% in Q4 as the channel destocked and homeowners delayed replacements. The company expects replacement demand to rebound later this year.
In a first for the industry, Carrier submits standardized Title 24 JA18 logic to regulators, promising faster compliance and simpler commissioning for building automation projects
The submission covers a broad range of applications – VAVs, air handlers, exhaust fans, and fan coil units. The i-Vu system will include locked logic to support compliance.

Since its inception in 1981, the Distributors’ Education Foundation — established to honor the late William A. Blees and his many years of service as an advisor to Carrier and Bryant distributors — has provided more than $500,000 in assistance to more than 400 students working toward undergraduate or vocational degrees.
