The Echelonâ„¢ furnace line of gas-fired 80 percent AFUE downflow models has been expanded to incorporate a combination downflow and horizontal configuration. The line also will now feature a downflow/horizontal variable-speed furnace with an electronically commutated motor (ECM). This gas furnace line includes variable-speed, two-stage, and single-stage models. The units have a 40-inch cabinet and an acoustically insulated blower compartment. The variable-speed furnaces are equipped with EcoTraKâ„¢ technology, which enables installers to customize the comfort performance for each home, depending on the climate - humid, dry, or temperate -
in which the homeowner resides. During continuous fan operation, this variable-speed furnace may use less energy than a 100-W light bulb, the company says.
