Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003: Alco Controls Changes Name To Flow Controls

CHICAGO — Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson, announced that Alco Controls is changing its name to Flow Controls. The company says this new name signals an increasing focus within Emerson to provide integrated technology solutions for its customers, and the growing importance of Alco’s product offering within this strategy. In addition to announcing the company name change, the group will release product name changes that incorporate the Emerson Climate Technologies brand in the coming months.

Emerson Climate Technologies’ business leader, Tom Bettcher, made the announcement at the 2003 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) here. “As our business strategy continues to evolve, Alco is a key link in our ability to develop more complete technology solutions,” explained Bettcher. “Customers want systems that are simple and efficient. Alco’s flow control technology plays a vital role in keeping equipment in peak condition, and can be paired with other Emerson products — like compressors, motors, and controls — to elevate the overall performance of the system.”

New product labeling, packaging, catalogs, and other materials reflecting the Emerson Climate Technologies brand will be phased in over the next 12 to 18 months.
