The company now offers detailed design data to use with its grooved, mechanical piping system in fire protection, hvac, and municipal and industrial applications in seismically active areas. The applications typically include code-regulated systems with adequate bracing, unregulated systems with little or no bracing, joint connections between independently moving sections, and buried systems, says the manufacturer. Included are the system’s built-in stress relief, performance characteristics of flexible and rigid couplings, seismic movement compensation devices, system bracing and support guidelines, seismic calculations, and seismic product testing techniques and results.
