Regulations restricting the handling of transportation of class 1 ozone depleting substances (CFCs) came into effect in Ontario on July 1, 2012. Since that date, all CFCs have been designated as wastes, and contractors and wholesalers are required to comply with R.R.O. Regulation 347.

The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) SkillTech Academy course schedule has officially been released. In an effort to make HRAI’s training available to a wider cross section of the industry, residential courses have been scheduled in a number of new locations.

In October 2011, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) published amendment 11 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations in the Canada Gazette part II. Affected products include residential gas, oil, and electric boilers with an input rate of less than 88 kW (300,000 Btuh).
