In the months before the federal election, HRAI led a coalition of associations and stakeholders in an effort to convince the government to re-introduce the ecoENERGY home retrofit program.
Eleven manufacturers of heating equipment have joined forces to launch “Beautiful Heat,” a comprehensive marketing program to promote the benefits of hydronic heating. To help increase market awareness and growth, Beautiful Heat will target consumers to inform and educate them about hydronic heating.

The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) released the 2010 update on the Canadian CFC chiller stock study. This update estimates that 253 CFC chillers were converted or replaced during 2010 in Canada. This represents a 3 percent decrease compared to 2009.

Two Canadian provinces have launched incentive programs. A new two-year, $42 million LiveSmart BC: Efficiency Incentive Program has been enacted, and the government of Saskatchewan has renewed the Saskatchewan EnerGuide for Houses program.
