DTE Energy announced it is providing rebates to its MichCon and Detroit Edison customers who purchase and install qualifying energy-efficient furnaces, furnaces with an electronically commutated motor (ECM), and programmable thermostats for their homes. The new rebates range from $20 to $200.

The CEO of a metro St. Louis-based asbestos removal company, Abatepro Inc., announced that his firm is now offering free inspections of furnaces and boilers for those in the St. Louis area. The free inspection program will continue until Dec. 15, 2010.
