PORTLAND, TX — Wendland Air Conditioning & Heating, LLC, owned by Mark and Coco Wendland of Portland, TX, has been awarded the Better Business Bureau's (BBB) Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.

Companies that competed in the Torch Award contest were nominated by the general public. The winners were selected by a judge's panel made up of Torch Award co-sponsor representatives from Del Mar College, Coastal Bend College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

This is the fifth year for the program, which is designed to honor outstanding companies for their commitment to ethics, customers, and the community. The local BBB covers nine counties in the Coastal Bend region of Texas.
