An energy-efficient evaporative condensing chiller system satisfies building LEED requirements and reduces energy consumption. The system features an integrated economizer coil that allows ambient air to provide the “free cooling” effect by reducing the number of hours that the mechanical cooling system must operate. According to the manufacturer, it helps customers go green by being the first to incorporate waterside free cooling with evaporative-cooled packaged chillers. The variable-flow screw chiller has integral pumps and an economizer coil built to deal with fluctuating loads throughout the operating cycle. The system runs 24/7. The unique components allow the chiller to reduce the use of energy by tracking the building load as it increases and decreases. The system is also equipped with redundancy factors, such as multiple compressor circuits and backup pumps, to give customers peace of mind.
