State Deptartment Orders Performance Contract

ST. PAUL, MN — The United States Department of State has awarded a delivery order for an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) to The Trane Company.

This will be the first international order through the Department of Energy (DOE) Technology Specific Energy Savings Performance Contract Program, and will be done at the U.S. Embassy compound in Seoul, Korea.

Trane said the program would allow it to begin mobilization and construction of energy-based solutions that will address the mechanical system needs of 157 single-family homes, as well as the Ambassador’s residence. The mechanical system upgrades include the installation of geothermal heat pump technology for heating and air conditioning, as well as improvements to building envelope and variable-speed pumping strategies.
