Spartan Green Energy Launches New Website

BRENTWOOD, Md. - Spartan Green Energy, a division of Spartan Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, has launched a new website to inform homeowners about home energy improvements, retrofits, and home performance rebates, incentives, and tax credits.

Spartan Green Energy is a full service home performance contractor that offers Maryland and Washington, D.C., homeowners a full range of energy improvements and HVAC services. Frank Robbins, weatherization director at Spartan Green Energy, said the company doesn’t just do heating and cooling; it looks at the home as a whole system.

The process begins with an energy audit from a BPI Certified Auditor. This service educates homeowners on how they can improve the safety, efficiency, and comfort of their homes through weatherization measures like air sealing, duct sealing, and insulation; and retrofitting the home with properly sized, higher efficiency air conditioning systems, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and water heaters. Robbins said, “On average these measures save about 20 percent in heating and cooling bills, but it can be a whole lot more.”

Robbins, a LEED AP who has performed energy auditor services and overseen retrofits on over 200 homes, hopes the new website “will help inform homeowners of all the rebates, incentives and tax credits that are available towards home energy improvements and the benefits of increasing your home’s performance level.” Most Maryland homeowners are eligible for rebates from Maryland Home Performance with Energy Star and utility programs on energy retrofits. Rebates for heating and cooling systems are also available from Maryland utility companies as part of Governor Martin O’Malley’s “EmPOWER Maryland” initiative, to reduce Maryland’s energy consumption by 15 percent by 2015.
