The GR8 duct system is wrapped in a blanket of R8 fiberglass insulation. According to the manufacturer, there is no potential to exhaust fiberglass from within the ductwork into the living space because the airstream is over polyethylene plastic. The ductwork comes with fitted elbows and T-joints as well as insulated jackets with adhesive tabs. The system includes a snap-in-place lockdown clamp that eliminates the need for male and female unions and tape, says the manufacturer. Also, this clamp ensures an airtight seal, leak tested to 6 inches water column, the company states. Other features include a snap-in-place plenum take-off and a redesigned offset adapter.
