South Dakota Contractor Completes PHCC Term
SIOUX FALLS, SD — Larry W. Howe, owner of Howe Heating & Plumbing, Inc., has been awarded National Association life membership, in accordance to the recent approval of a national association bylaws amendment, which grants lifetime membership to all foundation chairmen who complete a three-year term as chairman of the Educational Foundation for the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC). Partnerships were developed with vocational schools, industry associations, as well as PHCC chapters and enhanced service groups;
Educational Foundation partnered with NAPHCC Auxiliary to distribute career videos and developed a coalition with industry trade associations;
A number of training courses were developed including the Kohler Seminar Series, Service Contractors Management Training Course, and the Foreman/Superintendent as Field Leader Workshop;
Approximately $48,000 in foundation scholarships and $15,000 in Delta Faucet Company Scholarships were awarded each year. Also, a new foundation need-based scholarship is set to debut in 2002;
New royalties and sponsorships as well as an annual giving program were developed;
and committee participation was broadened and the Educational Foundation strategic plan was revised for 2001-2003.
The following goals and objectives were accomplished during Howe’s term:
