Sept. 30, 2009: ACCA Video Training Explains HVAC Quality Installation Specification

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has released a new four-part computer video training series on its HVAC Quality Installation Specification.

According to ACCA, “Understanding Quality Installation,” guided by instructor Jack Rise, enables contractors to make industry-approved installation the competitive differentiation they offer their customers. The self-directed training provides comprehensive instruction in an easy-to-understand manner, directing users through all of the parts with clear explanations and visual aids, stated ACCA.

“In this economic environment, consumers and business owners not only desire, but they expect, good value for their financial investments,” said Paul Stalknecht, president and CEO of ACCA. “There’s never been a more perfect time than now for contractors to stand apart from the competition by offering the education and methodology of the Quality Installation program. Not only can you tell your customers what they should expect in a quality HVAC installation, but then you can actually execute it.”

The Quality Installation Specification is an ANSI-recognized standard adopted by the EPA for use in its Energy Star QI program that describes precisely the steps a contractor must take to ensure a quality HVAC installation. It was developed by a broad coalition of industry stakeholders, and identifies consensus requirements associated with quality installations, acceptable procedures for measuring or verifying the attainment of those requirements, and acceptable forms of documentation to show compliance to the requirements, said ACCA.

Understanding Quality Installation, sold as a four-CD set with a list price of $299 or a discounted price of $199 to ACCA members, is available now through the ACCA online store at www.acca.org/store/product.php?pid=374 or by calling 888-290-2220.
