MoreMIDLAND, Mich. - Dow Chemical Co. has announced an increase in prices of 40 cents per gallon for all low-temperature thermal fluids, with the exception of DOWFROST RV heat transfer fluid, effective Oct. 15, 2005. The price for DOWFROST RV fluid will increase by 5 cents per pound. DOWTHERM heat transfer agents DOWFROST heat transfer mediums (except DOWFROST RV heat transfer medium) UCAR HTF Inhibitor fluids UCARTHERM ethylene glycol based heat transfer fluids AMBITROL coolants NORKOOL coolants PROTHERM propylene glycol coolants FOODFREEZE heat transfer fluids
The 40 cent per gallon price increase will apply to the following product families:
"We continue to experience unprecedented escalation in raw material costs. The devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina have put additional pressure on critical petrochemical feedstocks and energy prices," said Pete Pendergast, marketing manager - Americas, for low-temperature thermal fluids. "In addition, the disruption in the transportation infrastructure in the Gulf Coast has further tightened supply of key raw materials utilized to manufacture our products.
"We must implement these increases in order to offset the rising costs to manufacture and transport our products and remain a strong and reliable supplier."
