Sept. 2, 2002: Lennox Announces Price Increase

DALLAS, TX — Lennox Industries Inc. has announced a 3-6% price increase on all unitary residential and commercial heating and cooling products effective October 1, 2002. The increase is in response to the tariffs levied on steel as a result of the Section 201 investigation of steel imports, which has also affected the cost of domestic steel. (See Presidential Proclamation 7529, March 5, 2002.)

Lennox International Inc., parent company of Lennox Industries, had indicated in a July 25 announcement that it expected price increases in its operating companies to offset the increased cost of steel.

Lennox Industries manufactures and distributes its residential and light commercial indoor comfort systems to more than 7,000 dealers across North America.
