BALTIMORE - Chandra Govindarajalu, senior environmental analyst for the World Bank, and Glenn Barrett, director of energy management for grocery retailer Supervalu, will headline the sixth Danfoss EnVisioneering symposium, “Breaking Through: Creating an Informed Energy-Efficiency Technology Marketplace,” Oct. 23 in Washington, D.C.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hotel Washington, 15th Street NW at Pennsylvania Avenue, in the nation’s capital.

Barrett will address the topic, “The Built Environment: An Informed End-User Perspective,” while Govindarajalu will discuss “Education for Energy Efficiency: Experience Abroad.” Their presentations will be complemented by two sessions: “Assessing Results: Reports from the Energy Efficiency Frontier” and “EnVisioneering Symposia: The Year in Review, What’s on Deck for 2008?”

“Creating a 21st century culture of energy efficiency starts with effective steps to educate key players in the marketplace,” said John Galyen, president of Danfoss Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, North America. “This symposium will explore what it takes to move the marketplace, build awareness, establish trust, and drive deployment of innovations that can tap deeply into the reservoir of potential energy savings.”

Galyen will once again host the symposium and lead the final session, “EnVisioneering Symposia: The Year in Review, What’s on Deck for 2008?” The event is being co-organized by Global Strategy Initiative, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm, and Godfrey, a Lancaster, Pa.-based marketing communications firm.

This is the third symposium that Danfoss will host this year, and the sixth in the past two years. At the Oct. 23 event, Danfoss will reveal details about symposia events planned for 2008.
