The XS/XHS1271 and 1872 ceiling-recessed air conditioners and heat pumps offer a new four-way airflow design that sends cool air in all directions within the room and returns the air through the center of the grille, which evenly distributes air through each of the openings. The six new split product models are available in both 12,000- and 18,000-Btuh capacities and in cooling only, cooling only with low ambient capability, and heat pump versions. According to the manufacturer, the indoor units will fit into any traditional ceiling grid with no modifications. These new models are all rated at 16 SEER, with the heat pumps carrying an 8.5 HSPF rating. Other features include a wireless remote controller (wired controller an optional accessory), an integral condensate pump, remote ducting capability, and low sound ratings down to 31 dBa.
