MoreSeveral members of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) from the eastern United States were recently awarded RSES Certificate Member (CM) and Certificate Member Specialist (CMS) status: Gary L. Perdue, CM, of the Monticello Chapter, Charlottesville, Va. Kevin C. Wasielewski, CM, of the Pocono Chapter, Stroudsburg, Pa. Richard J. Wirz, CM, of the National Capitol Chapter, Washington. Larry E. Hughes, CMS, of the Southwestern Virginia Chapter, Grundy, Va., HVACR Electrical. Steve P. Phyillaier, CMS, of the Twin Rose Chapter, York, Pa., Heating.
In order to become a CM, RSES members must first pass a rigorous exam that tests their knowledge of installing and servicing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. "The RSES CM exam is based heavily on theory and practical applications," the society explained.
To obtain CMS status, members must first pass the CM exam. CMS status is earned by passing one or more of the seven Specialist examinations available: Commercial Refrigeration, Commercial Air Conditioning, Heating, Controls, Domestic Service, HVACR Electrical, and Heat Pumps.
The CM/CMS exam series originated in 1935.
