The Cat 7D thermal conductivity analyzer monitors the changes in thermal conductivity between a known value (reference gas) and the thermal conductivity value of the sample gas, says the company. The technology provides highly sensitive and stable measurements of hydrogen, nitrogen, and other binary gases, and is easy to operate and calibrate, the manufacturer says. The unit has an explosion-proof enclosure and can be used in hazardous areas rated Class 1, Zone 1, Group IIB and H2. It is suitable for use in generator cooling systems and for ammonia, hydrocarbon, and steel applications, the company says.
