HeatManagerâ„¢ is an energy-saving add-on device for oil, gas, and propane hydronic heating systems and domestic hot water systems. The unit automatically adjusts the burner output as energy requirements change, which typically reduces fuel consumption by 10 percent to 20 percent, says the company. No outdoor sensor is required and there is no need to profile a home or building to adjust the reset controller, states the manufacturer. The HeatManager uses plug-in sensors that monitor the boiler's outflow water temperature and the rate at which this temperature is changing.
