ATLANTA, GA — There’s been a change at the top and in ownership at R.S. Andrews, the residential and commercial service company headquartered here in Atlanta.

Stephen Andrews, founder and ceo of R.S. Andrews, recently sold out his interest in the company to Kansas City Power & Light (KCPL), one of the original investment partners in R.S. Andrews. The deal gives KCPL majority interest in the company.

After the deal was completed, KCPL asked Frank Chamberlain to assume the duties as ceo. Chamberlain, president and ceo of Chamberlain & Cansler, Inc., an Atlanta-based business consultant and interim management company, told The News that he “has managed a number of underperforming companies — to go into companies that have fallen short of their potential and improved their performance.”

At one point R.S. Andrews had 20 operating units, located mainly in the Southeast United States. When Chamberlain took over, the company had 18 units.

“We closed two centers and sold another two,” he said. “We have 14 operating units now.”

Chamberlain, who has not previously worked in the hvacr trade, stated his goal for R.S. Andrews. “This is now a period devoted to the integration, consolidation, and focusing of the existing acquisitions,” he said.
