Publix Maintenance Goes High Tech
The CMMS initiative is aimed at Publix’s internal and external service organization, which manages the maintenance of each store’s infrastructure (bakery equipment, display cases, HVAC, etc.), as well as new store construction activities.
Publix says it will be using the “Service Hub for Grocery/Retail” product set, which includes ViryaNet Service Hub, Workforce Management, Service Scheduler, Service Supply Chain, and eRepair modules.
The ViryaNet component is de-signed to allow management to schedule, dispatch, and optimize its workforce, improve management of assets and inventory, and automate many of the tasks associated with general maintenance, according to ViryaNet officials.
Publix is the United State’s largest employee-owned grocery chain, with 119,500 employees and 702 supermarkets across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
