Product Offering Expanded

MILWAUKEE - Johnson Controls Inc. acquired Environmental Technologies Inc., Largo, Fla. The company designs, manufactures, and supplies HVAC terminal products including variable air volume (VAV) terminals, low-pressure air-handling units, and fan and blower coil units under the Enviro-Tec® brand name. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"We are excited to join forces with Johnson Controls and we see this as a great fit. The legacy of Environmental Technologies and the future of our product line are secure with Johnson Controls," said Kent Rawson, CEO and founder of Environmental Technologies.

Johnson Controls also acquired the rights to the name Enviro-Tec, and will market products under the Enviro-Tec brand name through the existing representative channels. No changes are currently planned in the existing distribution strategy for the Enviro-Tec product line; products will continue to be offered through its existing sales channels, and manufacturing will remain in Largo. The company has approximately 375 employees.

"We welcome the employees and sales agents of Environmental Technologies to the Johnson Controls team," said Alex Molinaroli, vice president and general manager of Johnson Control's North America Systems business. "Environmental Technologies has been supplying fan coils and VAVs to us, so this acquisition only strengthens that existing relationship."
