CRAWFORD, TX — In his final weekly radio address of 2001 presented from his ranch in Texas, President George W. Bush reviewed his initial year in office, which he said saw success in the war on terrorism as well as success on the home front.

The president declared that U.S. citizens are now safer because of the actions of his administration. However, he did admit that had not been able to push through Congress some key elements of his legislative agenda, and he placed the blame on Senate Democrats for those disappointments.

“I hope that we can resolve [these issues] in the new year, and put politics aside, and get the job done for the American people.”
