The Filtrometerâ„¢ is a monitoring device that is designed to sense when it's time to replace the air conditioning and furnace air filter. It can be easily installed between the fan and the filter bank, the company states. It operates in variable airflow as well as in constant airflow. The monitor can be installed in OEM units or installed on an existing system. It detects if the wrong filter is installed. According to the manufacturer, the unit needs a one-time calibration when it is installed. The control unit operates between 32 degrees and 150 degrees F, while the sensing probe operates between -40 degrees and 150 degrees. It can operate on either 24 VAC or 24 VDC.
