Platform Unveiled

SAN DIEGO - Richards-Zeta (RZ) presented its IP-centric Building Automation System (BAS) integration solutions platform to member partners attending the annual Cisco Partner Summit held recently.

The Partner Summit drew between 3,500 and 4,000 Cisco Channel and Technology Development Partners from around the world to attend the near weeklong event aimed at unveiling new Cisco products, solutions, and programs. The theme of this year's summit was The Edge, intended to educate the partners about Cisco Connected Real Estate (CCRE) being on The Cutting Edge of Technology solutions. While the attending partners were familiar with and interested in the current Cisco IP technologies for workplaces and multitenant offices, many were rather interested in how BAS integration over the same network could provide new business opportunities for their clients.

RZ's contribution to this year's event was the demonstration of an integrated buildings platform that bridges the gap and long-standing problem in the building controls industry of connecting multiple disparate systems using other open protocols such as BACnet and LonWorks, as well as many proprietary protocols from multiple manufacturers. In the past, this mismatch of protocols has created an ever-widening gap between the aggregations of other IT data required in businesses today and the ability to effectively manage the real estate assets of all companies globally.
