  • Lawrence Spielvogel, P.E., a consulting engineer and an ASHRAE Fellow, has been appointed to a National Academy of Sciences panel “Science and Technology for Countering Terrorism: Panel on Energy Facilities, Cities, and Fixed Infrastructure.” Identifying current concepts and opportunities for research to decrease the country’s vulnerability to terrorism for energy facilities, buildings, and other fixed infrastructure elements are the goals of the panel. Spielvogel is the only hvac engineer on the panel.
  • Environmental Support Solutions (Tempe, AZ) has named Gary Nielsen to the position of cfo.
  • Charles V. Fulmer has been named to the post of general manager of Teledyne Hastings Instruments (Hampton VA), a business unit of Teledyne Instruments.
  • The board of directors of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has appointed Philip J. DiNenno, P.E. (Baltimore, MD) to a three-year term as chair of the association’s Standards Council. Other newly appointed members to the body are Rick Breezee (Brooklyn Park, MN), John C. Stevenson (San Diego, CA); and Peter J. Gore Willse (Portland, CT).
  • Dennis M. Romer, CFSP has founded Triton Food Equipment, LLC, which is the exclusive equipment supplier for the Edy’s and Dreyer’s Grand Soft® System. Prior to this, Romer was with Manitowoc Co.
  • Urecoats Industries Inc., (Deerfield Beach, FL) a developer and marketer of sealants and coating products for the construction and building products industries, has appointed Dr. David E. Dana to director of research and new product development and James Phillip Newell to vice president of sales.
