Pennsylvania Utilities and ACCA Conduct

PITTSBURGH, PA — Western Pennsylvania’s major natural gas utilities — Dominion Peoples, Equitable Gas, and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania — teamed with the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) to enable 75 low-income families to have their furnaces inspected for safety and efficiency.

The furnace inspections and cleanings for these families were conducted on September 19. The gas companies agreed to help defray some of the cost of a new furnace if replacement was determined to be necessary.

All of the participants in this program were pre-selected based upon income.

The Western Pennsylvania Chapter of ACCA is a group of 58 independent heating and cooling contractors and 42 affiliates including suppliers, utilities, and vocational schools.
