Optibelt Corp.: V Belt

Optibelt Corp’s high performance reduced maintenance V belt is ready for use in belt driven air movers, pumps, etc. It is a wrapped belt that is rated at high temperature and power, the same as a cogged raw edge belt. The cord structure doesn't stretch after initial installation. The belt does not produce the standard noise level and vibrations, thereby reducing the wear on the pulleys extending the useful life of the pulleys and bearings in the drive. Installation steps required are the same as for standard V belts. They do not require retensioning after initial run in periods, and will out last standard V belts, according to the company. In a practical test, the belts have exhibited an extended life and are capable of saving energy when applied with closed loop control systems.
