Oct. 31, 2002: EAI Honors Contractor Members

HEBRON, KY — Excellence Alliance Inc. (EAI) held its 2002 Annual Excellence Leaders Meeting from Oct. 17-19, at the Cincinnati Marriott Rivercenter in Covington, KY.

Each year, EAI recognizes its member contracting companies. The association honors mechanical contracting and residential and light commercial contracting companies in each EAI region. One overall winner is also recognized each year. According to EAI, each winner “demonstrates its commitment to growth and progress in each of the seven Principles of Excellence by participating in Alliance programs and activities, by involving internal members of their organization in EAI activities and training opportunities, and by implementing progressive ideas and techniques to improve their company operations.”

At the meeting, the EAI 2002 Mechanical Contractor of the Year Award was presented to C.W. Suter & Son Inc., headquartered in Sioux City, IA.

Additionally, regional awards were given to the following companies:

  • Northeast Region — Hughes Environmental Engineering (Montvale, NJ);

  • Midwest Region — C.W. Suter & Son Inc. (Sioux City, IA);

  • Southeast Region — CHC Mechanical Contractors (Cookeville, TN);

  • Southwest Region — Scottco Mechanical Contractors (Amarillo, TX); and

  • Western Region — Air Systems Engineering (Tacoma, WA).

    The EAI Residential Contractor of the Year Award was presented to this year’s Southeast region winner, Peaden Air Conditioning Inc. of Panama City, FL. Regional winners included:

  • Northeast Region — Cropp-Metcalfe Air Conditioning & Heating (Fairfax, VA);

  • Midwest Region — Northern Weathermakers Inc. (Northbrook, IL);

  • Southwest Region — Richardson’s Plumbing & Heating Inc. (Shreveport, LA); and

  • Western Region — Dayco Heating & Air Conditioning (Kennewick, WA).
