Oct. 22, 2007: Trane Sponsors 2007 Greenbuild Conference

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Trane announced that it is reaffirming its commitment to green communities through its platinum sponsorship of the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. Greenbuild will be held Nov. 7-9 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“Two thirds of green buildings come from the energy efficiency and indoor air quality aspects of commercial and residential HVAC,” said John W. Conover IV, president of Trane’s commercial business in the Americas. “That's why it’s critical for businesses like Trane to support the mission of the U.S. Green Building Council and Greenbuild. We must find ways to advance building technologies and solutions that accelerate the design and construction of green communities.”

For the second consecutive year, Trane is sponsoring Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Schools education sessions and workshops. In addition, this year Trane will sponsor LEED for Homes educational programs. LEED for Homes is the U.S. Green Building Council’s newly introduced rating system for the residential sector.

Trane will be hosting:

• Full-day LEED for Schools workshop

• LEED for Homes National Launch Reception & Celebration

• LEED for Homes education session: The Field Perspective

“The average household will spend almost $2,100 on home energy costs in 2007, with heating and cooling costs accounting for about one-half of the typical residential energy bill,” said Dave Pannier, president of Trane’s residential systems business. “When installing an energy efficient HVAC system, consumers can do something responsible for the environment and good for the pocketbook.”

During the three-day Greenbuild event, more than 20,000 green building industry professionals will learn about the latest developments in green building design and construction, including project financing and building management.
