WATERVLIET, Mich. - Bruce Morgan, district sales manager for Lochinvar Corp. in the Western Michigan territory, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 2 while attending an industry event. He had received the company’s prestigious Salesman of the Year Award in 2008 and was recognized for Outstanding Sales Achievements in both 2007 and 2009.
He began his career in the industry in 1972, earning his Master Plumbers License, working as a mechanical contractor, and owning his own business, Flagel & Morgan, from 1978-2006. He brought extensive knowledge of all things related to boilers, water heaters, hydronics, and plumbing to the manufacturer.
“It is with great sadness that the Lochinvar family announces the untimely death of Bruce Morgan,” stated Jeff Vallett, executive vice president for the company. “Bruce truly loved this industry and the people with whom he associated both within the company and his sales territory of western Michigan. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Sandy and the entire Morgan family.”
He was a member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ in South Haven, an instructor and lifetime member of the NRA, member and past president of Taildragger Flyers Inc., and Berrien County Sportsman Club, and he was a former member of the Benton Harbor Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter Kristy Moxley; grandchildren Tyler and Mason Pennington, and Chase and Kaitlyn Moxley; mother, Dorothy; and brother, Stanley. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd and daughter Karri.
